Dr. Swapnil Parchand is a well know and one of the best Vitreo-Retina and Uvea Specialist of Central India. He is first Ophthalmologist of Chhattisgarh to have received prestigious MRCS degree from Royal college of surgeon and Physician, Glasgow, UK. He the first and currently only Ophthalmologist of Chhattisgarh who has received prestigious FAICO degree in Vitreo-Retina subspeciality from All India Ophthalmological Society, New Delhi.

He completed his post-graduation from premier institute of India Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. He did rigorous 3 years subspeciality training in Vitreo-Retina and Uvea from PGIMER Chandigarh under mentorship of Prof Amod Gupta, Prof Mangat Dogra, Prof Vishali Gupta and Prof Ramandeep Singh who are regarded as stalwart in field of Ophthalmology. Following his successful completion of subspeciality training, he joined as Assistant Professor at another premier institute JIPMER, Puducherry. He was instrumental in starting and developing subspeciality Retina in Ophthalmology department. He also started Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) programme at JIPMER, Puducherry.

Dr. Swapnil Parchand is a gifted surgeon and has experience of doing more than 10,000 successful Retina surgeries till date. He has vast experience of operating complicated Retina surgeries including complex retinal detachment, vitreous haemmorhage, dislocated IOL, nucleus drop, etc. He has keen interest in Retinopathy of Prematurity and has screened more than 3000 babies and treated more than 500 babies with severe ROP.
